New EU customs rules come into effect on 1st July 2026. There will be a $3 flat duty applied (per item) for orders from the UK into the EU.
Sadly this makes continuing to sell items of low monetary value - such as greeting cards - simply unviable as far as we can see it. I am so sorry to report that we will therefore be suspending all sales to the EU.
After Brexit, we lost many EU customers due to taxies and duties being applied to deliveries from the UK and the associated delays in delivery. Then along came the IOSS solution. We had to sign up to a tax intermediary but this enabled us to collect and pay EU taxes on our customer's behalf so that the delays and extra fees could be removed. This was fairly expensive and time consuming but we were happy to do it to allow us to keep supplying our EU customers. For a few years, we were posting cards to the EU pretty much as normal, with just more admin work behind the scenes.
Now, however, with these extra duties being applied, we simply cannot continue to supply our cards to the EU. A very sad day for us. We would like to thank our lovely EU customers for their custom over the years and apologise for this inconvenience. We will of course keep an eye on the situation and look out for any potential solution in the future.
